Beyond the PaRDeS Wall

The Workshop Program: “Entering the PaRDeS Orchard: An Experiential Journey”
Workshop Description: “Entering the PaRDeS Orchard” is an immersive workshop program designed to activate the principles of The PaRDeS Paradigm through experiential learning and creative engagement. Participants will go “beyond the PaRDeS wall” to explore and expand their understanding of self and the world.
Inspired by methodologies like Bibliodrama and Psychodrama, this workshop transforms theoretical concepts into tangible, personal experiences. We provide a “safe, creative space” for exploring the layers of meaning in your own “story” and in the world around you.
Workshop Activities May Include:
• Visual Midrash Gallery: Engage with photography and visual art to create dynamic, artistic commentaries on Jewishness and personal identity. Learn to “see beyond the surface of visible things”.
• “Splitrock” Exercises: Practice breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces, mirroring ancient rabbinic dialectics and fostering innovative solutions.
• Interactive Interpretive Sessions: Apply the PaRDeS levels (Peshat, Remez, Derash, Sod) to selected texts, films, or personal narratives, fostering “dialogical reading” and reconciling diverse interpretations.
• “Embodied PaRDeS”: Explore body awareness and kinesthetics to connect physical responses with profound meanings, recognizing the “affective nature” of human experience.
• Reinventing Your Narrative: Use the “Pardes Factor” as a personal “environmental theater” to manage your internal and external world for sanity and self-discovery.
• Music and Movement: Incorporate musical elements and dramatic improvisation to deepen engagement with themes and stories, reflecting the fluidity and dynamism of the PaRDeS process.
Workshop Benefits:
• Practical Skills: Acquire a systematic method for comprehensive analysis and problem-solving applicable to various contexts.
• Deepened Self-Awareness: Gain profound insights into your own perspectives, emotional responses, and personal truths.
• Community & Connection: Engage in collaborative meaning-making within a supportive environment, transforming the reading and learning experience into a “spontaneous communitas”
